In Denial

Okay so I think I'm in denial. Denial about what, you ask? Well read on...

When I was pregnant with Aiden I signed up for several baby newsletters. They would email you once a week and tell you what was developing in the baby and allowed you to keep up with their growth. It was a countdown to delivery. Well since the birth, I've continued to receive these emails telling me things like, "Your 4 month old should be doing this" and "What to do when your 6 month old won't eat", etc. Well recently I've received about 4 of these same type emails all telling me it's time to start planning for the PARTY. I'm like WHAT! WHAT PARTY are they talking about.

Thanksgiving, Christmas, Game Night - I'm all for those type PARTIES. BUT then, I continue reading and the PARTY they are talking about is a BIRTHDAY party. For my ONE year old! I stop reading right there. I don't have a child that's ready for a birthday party! I don't believe it! I deleted those emails right then and there because they obviously weren't meant for me!

Denial - that's what they call it - but I'm sticking with it. My child, sweet little Aiden, is NOT about to be one year old. I don't believe you!

He may be growing up fast, but he is growing up. You can't change that. But you will always be his mom - no matter how old he is. Each year he will just have more and more love to give back!

I hear what you are saying. Time goes so fast! And before you know it they are ready for school, then driving, dating, looking at colleges and graduating. That's why you need to enjoy each and every day now...while they still want to cuddle and spent every minute of their day with you! :)
