Swim Meet

As a lot of you know Brian is a big swimmer. He swam competitively for years growing up and has swam in a triathlon here in Nashville for the past several years. He is very committed to his exercise and decided to take his training and competitions up a notch. He joined a Masters Swim Club/Team - it's basically an adult league where they practice together and then go to meets to participate and compete.

He amazes me with his dedication as the team swims together in the early morning. I'm talking like he gets up at 5, is out the door and at the pool at 5:30 and then is at his desk for work at 7. Dedication! Well this training has paid off and Brian was able to compete in his first swim meet with his team just a few weeks ago.

We were so excited to get to go see him in a pool and actually watch him compete. In the triathlons we never see him as they swim in the river and there are hundreds of people. Being the sports fan I am, I was debating on just how one cheers and gets ready for a swim meet. Do I paint my face, do we make signs, get cowbells, etc. I was pumped to go cheer on my husband to say the least!

Brian was a crazy fool and signed up to swim in about 10 different races that day - some relays with his teammates are included in that number. CRAZY! He was tired and sore but I think he really enjoyed being back in the water racing!! They broke the results up by age groups and so in some races there may have only been 2 or 3 guys in his group. Some he won, some he didn't. Overall I think he was happy.

This is my favorite. The kids got to go to the railing to watch him and
I was able to capture this just as Brian swam by them!

Brian's the one with the yellow stripe - he was about to do a 25meter sprint

I love this!! The look on the kids faces is precious!

Well I didn't get as many pics as I would have liked. You know, managing three kids in bleachers, one strapped to your chest grabbing everything in your hands, was a little consuming at times! There is another race just after New Years - Jan. 5th - so stay tuned for details on that race!
