Today, Sunday July 27th we had Aiden's Baby Dedication at church. There was a total of seven families dedicating their children today and five in the service we attend. At our church the process is that each family picks a scripture to read before the congregation. We are called up individually, read the scripture and then our children's minister prays over each child. Then once all families are done, we together affirm that we are committing to raise our children up for the glory of God. It's a great event in our church and we were glad to dedicate Aiden today.
Here are a few photos from the day. Let me first say, we got a few pictures here at home so that we could get his outfit in the photos just in case he had a blow out before the ceremony. (It's been almost 3 days since he last pooped - these are desperate times)
OOOH... before you get to see the photos... I wanted you to know the scripture we chose for Aiden. It's taken from the book of Proverbs. Chapter 3. Verses 1-12....
My son, don't forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commands;
for they will bring you many days, a full life, and well-being.
Never let loyalty and faithfulness leave you.
Tie them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will find favor and high regard in the sight of God and man.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding;
think about Him in all your ways and He will guide you on the right paths.
Don't consider yourself to be wise; fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
This will be healing for your body and strengthening for your bones.
Honor the Lord with your possessions and with the first fruits of your entire harvest;
then your barns will be completely filled, and your vats overflowing with wine.
Do not despise the Lord's instruction, my son and do not loathe His discipline;
for the Lord disciplines the ones He loves, just as a father, the son he delights in.

I hated to miss seeing the baby dedication at the 9:00 service, but had such a fun time being in the nursery with the babies during that hour! Aiden is so sweet and cute and I loved getting to make him smile. We chose Prov. 3:5-6 as verses for Daniel when he was dedicated and I still pray that for him every day. I'm glad that you are getting to experience the joys of parenting a baby boy and that we can be a part of GCC together!
