It's been a whirlwind September and it's not stopping! Right after getting back from vacation Brian had a triathlon to compete in. He was on a relay team and was just doing the swimming portion while two other friends did the run and bike.
Once we got to Nashville Shores, the location of the race, we could instantly see the water was rough. Brian knew pretty quickly his goal, of 25 minutes, was likely not going to happen since the waves would be pretty intense.
The swimmer and competitor in Brian wasn't about to back down from the challenge and so he got in the water and was in the second group to start the race. After about 5 groups into the race, and Brian making his turn to come to shore, they had decided to call off the swimming portion and make the race a BIATHLON instead!!!
So sad to say it, Brian's time didn't count BUT the biker and runner were still going to compete so we spent our time cheering for them. Here are a few pictures from the day.

Roadtrips - well if Florida wasn't enough, Brian decided to go to Oxford, Mississippi with a group of friends to watch the Vanderbilt / Ole Miss football game. This was their annual "roadtrip" to an away game and I believe they had a blast.
So, the weekend after our vacation and race, they left and spent two nights in Tunica - a casino town just an hour away from Oxford.
Vandy won the game in dramatic fashion and they are now 4-0! So, the trip was definitely worth it for them!!

Thank you Shanna for getting some of the pictures posted.
Regarding the Vandy trip--- it was a great time. Crazy turnovers, blown calls by the refs, and a LOT of up and downs on the emotions for both sides made for a great time.
The weather was perfect too.
To top it off, Vandy is 4-0, ranked #21 (first time in the top 25 in 24 years), and University of Tennessee is 1-2 after a rear-end whoopin' to the Gators. The football weekend couldn't have been better.
