Aiden Douglas Joins The Bauman's

He's finally here! Aiden Douglas Bauman joined our family on Thursday, January 17, 2008. Weighing in at 6 pounds, 9 1/4 ounces, and 19 inches long, Aiden made his debut at 9:17 pm. What a surprise to be holding him a week earlier than expected. The labor process from start to finish was just over three hours, and Shanna didn't need any sort of epidural! She did it naturally. God is so good and we praise him for giving Shanna the strength to bring our bundle of joy into this world. The prayers of our friends and family during this time were certainly felt. Thank you so much to everyone who lifted Shanna and I up in this time.

He is a beautiful little boy. Has blondish/reddish hair is a little different that we would have thought, since we both have brown hair. It's nice and fair, and sort of sticks up real cute.

It didn't take us long to find out that Aiden likes to be bundled up in a blanket all day. When it was time to change the diaper and we unwrapped him, he let us know he wasn't happy about it and became a little vocal. Shortly after the change, when we wrapped him up again, he was pretty calm.
One funny story for you... He was fussing for a little bit, so I changed his diaper which was a little wet, and was still a bit fussy. Then I wrapped him up and placed him on Shanna's lap. All of a sudden there was a pretty good sized "toot", and then the crying was done. All he needed to do was let a little gas out. That made for a good laugh.

Another fun thing was watching him with some hiccups today. We were praying with some people from church who came to visit us, and I could hear Aiden next to me making some noise. When the prayer was over, I looked down, and he shook with every hiccup. How precious.
