Valentines Festivities

We don't really celebrate Valentines Day in our house. It's just like any other day to us really. We do like to have a nice dinner or something but we don't get into the whole "festivities". Maybe it's because I don't like the color pink and I don't believe in cupid and his arrows. Maybe it's that I'm just not a sappy person and frankly all the "gush" makes me ill. OR maybe it's that I want to show my husband love everyday and NOT have to go all out one day of the year.

BUT... regardless of all those reasons, we did have fun today celebrating love with Aiden. It's not his first Valentines Day but I think he will remember this one a little better than last year when he was only a month old.

We started our day at a friends small party. Just a few families getting together to play, exchange Valentines cards, decorate cookies, etc. It was a blast! Brian and I decorated Aiden's cards for him and we were pretty proud of our homemade work.

After the party we came home and Brian and Aiden had some guy time while I went to get my haircut and shop a little. They both got naps in but after seeing these pictures they took I think they got in some play time too.

And our favorite part of the day, Brian took Aiden on a walk and were just getting home when I pulled in to the house. They were on the front porch reading Aiden's newest V-Day Card. It was placed on our door. I LOVE IT! It's from his newest friend Lucy.

What a great day! Maybe Valentines Day isn't so bad afterall!  :)
